Student Interdisciplinary Research Club

SIRC provides undergraduate students with the resources, network, and guidance to conduct research projects.

What is SIRC?

SIRC's goal is to help to increase the UBCO's culture of undergraduate research. We aspire to achieve such goals by mentoring undergraduate projects, connecting with faculty/industry partners, pairing talented students with challenging projects, and potentially helping with funding resources for well-developed proposals.

Atmospheric Cloud Chamber of the Okanagan (AC2O)

We are sending up a cloud chamber on a stratospheric balloon to detect cosmic rays.

We participated in an international innovation contest hosted by the European and French Space Agencies. This challenged us to develop new ideas on the colonization of the moon.

Whether you want to start your own project or help an existing one; SIRC would love to have your help, no skills required.

Join the research community at UBCO. Develop the necessary skills and networks even as an undergrad.

Launch pad for projects

We help research projects get off the ground.

Everyone can join

SIRC is campus-wide. You don't need to be a STEM major to join. All that is required is passion.
